Her body was found yesterday in woodland near Joao Pinheiro, southeast Brazil

It was reported today that Mara Cristina da Silva 23 a very young mother succumbed to her death after a couple cut her unborn baby out of her womb. She was tied up to a tree with barbed a wire.

Angelina Rodrigues, 40 is arrested by the police. She is heard saying “always dreamed of having a baby girl”.

Right after the barbaric act Angelina Rodrigues, reached Sao Lucas hospital and told the doctors there that she has just given birth to a baby.

The doctors got suspicious when she refuses to medical checkups. The doctors called the police and informed them of the incident.

Roberto Gomes da Silva the husband of Angelina Rodrigues was also arrested after the body of Mara Cristina da Silva was found.

The killer confessed to the crime, the victim was tied to a tree with a metal wire and her womb mutilated after getting her drunk.

The wife denies the presence of Roberto the police however doubts that she could have done it alone and have arrested him as well.

A police spokesman said:

“We believe that the husband and a third person took part, but all this will depend on a police investigation.
“Tests show that Angelina isn’t pregnant and we believe the crime was premeditated.”

The family members have said that the Rodrigues befriended Mara after finding out she was pregnant.

Her aunt Euza Ribeiro told local media:

“The woman always dreamed of having a baby girl, and when she saw that my niece was pregnant she began to offer help.
“She lent her money to have her ultra-sound scan and the day she died had told her she was going to buy all the things that the baby needed.”

Reports suggest also suggest she also lived in the victim’s home.

The baby suffers a cut to its head and is being cared for at the Sao Lucas hospital.
