Forced to Drink Urine on Failing Sales Targets: China

CHINA: Chinese Firm forces employees to drink urine and eat cockroaches for failing to meet sales targets.

The staff complained for subject to extreme punishments. According to reports, three managers of the home improvement firm have been arrested and jailed.

Several employees are also seen taking cup of yellow liquid and drinking it

The managers were arrested after the video of the torture went viral on social media. One of the employees of the company in Zunyi, Guizhou province posted on social media site Weibo. The employed claimed staff has been subject to severe and extreme punishment. He posted the video with hashtag “employee who failed to meet their goals forced to drink urine”

Footage emerged showed incident where employees are being whipped by belts.

Several employees are also seen taking cup of yellow liquid and drinking it.

News website Zunyi Yaowen showed text messages threatening staff one of the message read:

employees are being whipped by belts.

“If the sales goal has not been met by the end of this month, the team leader will have to eat three cockroaches for each failed sale,”

According to other text messages, some of the other punishments involved drinking toilet water or vinegar, selling sanitary pads or condoms on the street and shaving their heads.

Zunyi police have reported two of the managers have been jailed for 10 days. The third will spend five days in jail.
