LAHORE: The Government has decided to remove Dr Umar Saif as chairperson of The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
The Man behind ‘Digital Punjab’, Dr Umar Saif tweets, “All good things must come to an end. It was a privilege to serve this country for 7 years, establish PITB, ITU, Plan9 and e-rozgaar.”
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government in punjab takes back the additional charge of PITB from Dr Umar Saif. However, he would continue his responsibilities as Vice-Chancellor of the Information Technology University (ITU).
Dr Umar Said graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He joined PITB as its head in 2011. During his seven-years tenure. Dr Umar Saif technological breakthroughs inovated Punjab Information Technology Board.
Recently launched E-Learn application, Smartphone/Tablet based android app to help educate students and teachers as a part of The Digital Punjab.
