Brazil: Obsession for their grandchildren led elderly parents to take the life of Marcia Martins Miranda. The daughter-in-law was buried alive.
The body of Marcia Martins Miranda, the 41-year-old mother of two was found beneath a concrete slab. They buried her body in an abandoned house one month after she went missing. She went missing in San Paulo, Brazil.

The parents-in-law committed the crime
The parents are arrested for burying their daughter-in-law alive and then hiding her body.
Her body was found in an abandoned house in the Rio Pequeno area of the city of Sao Paulo.
Her Parents-in-law, Fernando Antonio Martins de Oliveira, 62, and Maria Izilda Pereira Miranda, 60 had rented the house where her body was found. She had been missing for over a month.
It is believed the suspects had invited her to open a bank account for their grandchildren. She was probably attacked on reaching. It is suspected she was either buried alive or asphyxiated.
Investigator Mario Sergio de Oliveira Pinto said: he absolutely believed the parents-in-law had premeditated the crime. He said they “dug very deep” and put a concrete slab
The suspects were living in a rented house, which they had started living in 12 days before the victim went missing.
State Department of Homicide and Protection of Persons(DHPP) say the suspects had been obsessed with their grandchildren. They decided to kill her as she was going to separate and take the custody of her four-year-old boy and a nine-month-old girl.
