ISLAMABAD: Islamabad District Administration (ICT)’s in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s has launched operation against illegal encroachments / constructions made on the land allocated to Quaid-e-Azam University land.
On the first day of operation 100 kanals open land was retrieved and handed over to the university administration. This operation is being carried out against the elements who have been occupying land allocated to the university illegally.
These elements / influential encroachers remain hindrance in eliminating encroachments from the university land. However, in accordance with the policy of the present Government, operations against all encroachments, illegal constructions and illegitimate occupations are being carried out without any discrimination.
The operation was participated by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqat, Director Enforcement Fahim Badshah, entire staff and officers of Enforcement Directorate, officers and revenue staff of ICT, relevant officers and officials of Land and Rehabilitation Directorate. While heavy contingent of police was deployed and in order to, cater any unpleasant situation Counter Terrorism Force and Anti-Riot Unit of ICT Police with the backup of Rangers were also deployed during the operation. Heavy machinery was utilized to demolish illegal encroachments / constructions.

During the first day of operation, three (3) main houses, nine (09) small houses, 15 structures including walls, quarters, library, cattle rooms and guest rooms etc were demolished thereby recovered 80 kanals built up area.
It is pertinent to mention here that University Administration requested the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA for vacating university land from illegal occupants and concerned authorities carried out this operation on the base of joint demarcation report of Survey of Pakistan.
The operation against illegal constructions will remain continue till January 9, 2019.
