LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has revised the fares of Greenline Train (5UP/6DN), The notification was issued on 10 April 2019.
Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed hinted at the inauguration of Jinnah Express that the fares of Greenline will be revised.
New Fares of Greenline from Islamabad to Karachi (vice versa) will be Rs.7000/- which previously was Rs.5950/-.
The notification issued on 10th April 2019 stated that the new phase will be implemented from 15th April 2019 onwards.
The new Railway Schedule as per the press release be as follows
Margalla/Rawalpindi to Karachi
For Adults
- Booking before 48 hours Rs.6,650/-
- Booking within 48 hours Rs.7,000/-
For Children
- Booking before 48 hours Rs.3,650/-
- Booking within 48 hours Rs.3,850/-
Lahore to Karachi
For Adults
- Booking before 48 hours Rs.6,200/-
- Booking within 48 hours Rs.6,500/-
For Children
- Booking before 48 hours Rs.3,400/-
- Booking within 48 hours Rs.3,500/-
Lahore to Rawalpindi
- Rs. 1,350/-
Karachi to Hyderabad
- Rs. 1,350/-
It is also stated that passengers will be charged full fare no matter where they boarded the train from.
If any passenger who wishes to book the ticket within 24 hours, the charges will be levied as per fare table. Children will be charged 50% of the fare instead of 75%.
Discount of 5% will be provided on booking of train ticket before 48 hours.
Apart from Military vouchers/ warrants, no other concessions will be provided.

Staff members or any officers travelling for official inspection will be required to get prior permission from Additional General Manager.
If any passenger who wishes to buy the ticket after boarding on the train will be charged extra Rs.1,350/-
Train fare from Lahore to Rawalpindi and from Karachi to Hyderabad will be Rs.1,350/-
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has shut down the local train service, Dhabeji Express, which was inaugurated five months ago to transport commuters between Karachi and Dhabeji.
The Reason for the suspension of the service was that it was incurring heavy losses since its inauguration.
The shuttle couldn’t even generate enough revenue to meet the cost of fuel – Railway official.
