ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) along with Islamabad Capital Administration and Metropolitan Corporation is rehabilitating the right of way of Kashmir Highway. After the retrieval of land from illegal occupants and leveling of debris of demolished structures tree plantation activity in the area is in full swing.
Taking advantage of the monsoon season, massive tree plantation is being carried out in the vicinity so that the survival rate could be maximized. Furthermore, saplings of indigenous species as well as grown plants are being planted to ensure their survival. While carrying out tree plantation, evergreen trees are being preferred so that they not only add to the beauty of the city but could have a better impact on the environment of the city. The species which are being planted include Amaltas, Bottlebrush, Kachnar, and Sukhchain. Residents of the city and other organizations are also being engaged in the process.
The tree plantation is being carried out with the mutual collaboration of CDA, ICT Administration and MCI. CDA has reiterated that authority will provide its assistance in all the efforts aimed for the beautification of the city.

Meanwhile, Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Administration ICT conducted joint anti-encroachment operations in the different areas of Islamabad, particularly on the GT Road (Jhangi Syedan onward to Motorway Chowk) and remove encroachments and demolish illegal constructions in connection with ongoing anti-Encroachment Drive.
Anti-encroachment operation at GT Road (Jhangi Syedan onward to Motorway Chowk) remain continued and team of Enforcement Directorate in collaboration with ICT Administration demolished several illegal constructions and structure including 45 rooms, 16 bathrooms, 14 Boundary Wall, 03 Double Storey Buildings, 09 Shops, 01 Gate, 10 kitchen and 02 kokhas.
During the operation conducted in Sector F-12, Sector G-7/4 removed illegal construction including 09 Rooms and 04 Boundary Walls. While in Sector I-11/2, 02 Cattle Ranches were demolished.
Similarly, an operation was conducted in PHA Flats, Sector G-7/2 and 95 Parking Sheds and an illegal garage dismantled adjacent to Block No.50 were demolished /dismantled.
