ISLAMABAD: Work on construction of Burma Bridge Lehtrar Road is in progress. Dismantling of existing structure of the northern side bridge is being carried out and will be completed within in next few days.
In line with instructions of Capital Development Authority (CDA) management, contractor after establishing camp office has deputed allied machinery and staff at the site. Instructions have been issued to carry out all allied works side by side. In this connection, as the dismantling of the existing structure will be completed, piling work on the bridge will be started. It has been planned, that while carryout piling works of the bridge, girder casting be initiated side by side. In the meantime, protection work of the nullah including construction of retaining wall will be completed.
CDA management has directed the project director to remove the rubble of the dismantled portion so that site could be cleared as dismantling process completed. It has been further directed to display proper signage and warning boards regarding work in progress to avoid any incident. It has been also directed to coordinate with Islamabad Traffic Police to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the vicinity. Project Director has also been directed to remain present at the site for effective supervision. It has been also directed to submit progress report on the project on regular basis.
The bridge will be 152 meter long and will be 11.5 meters wide. The project will be completed within one (01) year time.Construction of bridge will help resolve traffic issues and will also end the miseries of the residents residing in the locality and commuters.
