Microsoft is going to be integrating Google’s Gmail, Calendar and drive to their Outlook. They have already started testing these Google services on their Outlook Client on some accounts as reported by Florian B on twitter.
It’s a short setup process that makes these Google Services available in your Outlook application. It is still however unclear when this feature will be rolled out to everyone as for now it seems that it is in a testing phase and only available to a few.
This is going to be very helpful for people who use both Outlook and Gmail for work or even personal use since they can now just have one client for all of this. The Google Drive integration will allow users to add files to their Outlook and Gmail emails very conveniently.
Microsoft hasn’t said much about when this will officially be available but a spokesperson did say:
We are always looking for new ways to extend the best email experience to our customers and can confirm that we’re experimenting with a small set of Outlook.com users to learn and gather feedback,
It is pretty nice of Microsoft to be doing this for users and being open to the fact that not all users will use all of Microsoft products for their needs and adding this option for their users will be appreciated by most.
