Instagram the Facebook owned photo sharing platform has a new feature for it’s users which reportedly has already been rolled out to both Android and iOS devices. The new Instagram feature is called, Layout. The feature has been added Instagram stories.
Instagram made a tweet announcing the new feature on Twitter today:
The new option is available in the stories section of the app with other options such as Boomerang, Superzoom and more. The option adds a new mode that allows the user to create collages with two, three or even four and six photos. The feature allows the user to use both the front cam as well as the rear cam to take photos for the collage and even select photos from the gallery. Obviously after selecting or taking the photos, the user can add text, filters or stickers as he/she wishes before they post.
Instagram also released another new feature for the Brazil market last month on both Android and iOS platforms. The feature somewhat resembles TikTok although Instagram did admit to it and give credit to the other App. Instagram’s director Robby Stein told TechCrunch:
I think Musically before Tiktok, and TikTok deserve a lot of credit for popularizing this format.
This new feature enabled users to create short 15 second clips that they could add music to and soundtracks included a lot of options with the option to search for audio for their desired choice.
The company is really working hard to making changes to the app and add features and include new things in recent weeks.
