Mariah Carey Twitter account was hacked on New Year’s eve

Mariah Carey is a Hollywood actress and singer. According to reports, the official Twitter account of Mariah Carey was hacked on New Year’s eve and more then 50 tweets were made from her account.

The tweets made from Mariah Carey Twitter account after being hacked included vulgar content, the ‘N’ word and a lot of offensive tweets towards the singer Eminem.

Twitter however locked the account when they were made aware of the situation and also removed all of those tweets from her account.

A Twitter spokesperson told USA today:

As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we locked the compromised account and are currently investigating the situation,

The hackers are reportedly known as The Chuckling Squad who are responsible for hacking into Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey’s account too and also some other celebrities too like Chloe Grace Moretz.

According to the Twitter, their CEO, Jack Dorsey’s account was also fell victim to what’s known as sim swapping or sim jacking and it is where a mobile number is transferred to another sim card.

However, according to Twitter, it is still not known whether, Mariah Carey is a victim of this too or not.

Mariah Carey is famous for her hit song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” which has helped her stay on the top of the Billboard charts for sometime now.
