The President of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif said that Maryam Nawaz should be allowed to travel abroad to be with her ailing father.
According to Shehbaz Sharif, his brother’s treatment procedure has been changed twice already because Maryam Nawaz was not given permission to fly abroad to be with her father. He said:
The procedure required for Nawaz’s treatment had to be changed twice because his daughter Maryam, who wanted to be with her father at that time, was not allowed to come from Pakistan,

Shehbaz Sharif said that Nawaz has already undergone two open heart surgeries and is faced with complex and deadly diseases so his daughter Maryam should be given permission to be with her father during this time on humanitarian grounds.
He also said that Nawaz Sharif’s health really deteriorated after his wife’s passing that impacted his health negatively saying:
During this time Maryam was a source of courage for Nawaz at the time but it is unfortunate that she is not allowed to visit her ailing father in this critical time,
further adding:
Because of Maryam’s absence, the cardiologist had to change the schedule of the ‘cardiac catheterisation’ procedure twice.
The two Sharif brothers were allowed to leave Pakistan and travel abroad by a two member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) last year in November so that Nawaz Sharif could get treatment. Initially they were allowed only four weeks to stay abroad but an extension could be given based on Nawaz’s medical reports.
Maryam Nawaz has also submitted a plea in LHC to be allowed to leave and go be with her father.
