Earlier, the route used for travel between Sialkot and Lahore was the GT Road that passed through Komoke, Muridke, Gujranwala and Daska before finally reaching Sialkot and that took a long time (almost 3 hours) as the GT Road has heavy traffic near these cities.
Now the M-11 project reduces that time to just under 50 minutes and the four lane motorway also connects to the Lahore – Islamabad motorway (M-2) at the Kala Shah Kaku interchange.
