The number of new coronavirus cases in Pakistan keeps rising and the tally has now reached 1,118 cases with eight reported deaths so far as provinces around the country are under lockdown.
Out of eight reported deaths, one was a doctor from Gilgit Baltistan who lost his life after contracting coronavirus from one of the patients he was treating.

Here is a breakdown of Pakistan coronavirus cases according to provinces as updated on 2:40 pm on 26 March 2020.

So far lockdown has been placed across provinces and people being urged to stay indoors to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus and all non essential public places have been closed including malls, shopping centers, markets, parks and restaurants.
However, grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets and pharmacies will remain open as a basic necessity item even during the coronavirus outbreak.
The National Highway and Motorway Police also announced that all motorways across the country will be closed to support the lockdown with only selective traffic to pass through to try and curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Global Update
The number of COVID-19 cases has surged past 480,000 with over 21,500 deaths globally and the number keeps rising rapidly.
China however has controlled the spread of the coronavirus with very few cases being reported each day and no local transmission cases since two days.
The epicenter of the coronavirus which is now Europe has seen the worst of the pandemic with thousands of new cases each day. The number of cases in Italy keeps rising rapidly and deaths have crossed 7,500 which is even more than the deaths in China.
Spain stands at number two with the number of COVID-19 deaths at 3,647 and the number of cases and deaths keep rising in the country.
The United States is on its way to becoming the new epicenter for the COVID-19 pandemic with thousands of new cases and the deaths now crossing 1,000. In just three days the United States has reported more than 30,000 new cases in the country.
