The novel coronavirus Pakistan cases tally has now reached 1286 and this number is not showing any signs of slowing down despite the lockdown across the country.
So far the total number of deaths due to the COVID-19 virus has only been 9 with the latest death reported from Punjab bringing the province total to 3 along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sindh, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan all have one casualty each.
The casualty in Gilgit Baltistan was a doctor who contracted the virus from one of the coronavirus patients he was treating.

Yesterday a COVID-19 patient from Jinnah Hospital Lahore ran away after testing positive along with the attendants. According to sources, the patient belonged to Gulshan Ravi area and was admitted to the hospital five days ago after which she was tested for coronavirus.

In related coronavirus news, Shahzad Town and Rimsha Colony (H-9) were sealed off in Islamabad after reports of confirmed coronavirus cases in the area to try and curb the spread of the coronavirus.

This wasn’t the only place sealed as a similar step was taken for the village of Manga, Mardan after reports of coronavirus and the area was cordoned off and nobody was allowed entry or even to leave the area.
Reports said that these areas were being provided with basic necessities and people were cooperating with authorities.

Global Update
The number of coronavirus cases in the world have surged past 548,500 with over 24,500 deaths and this number keeps rising very rapidly.
United States now stands at number one with the most coronavirus cases in the world even surpassing China and the death toll also seems to rising rapidly. The total number of coronavirus patients in the United States have reached 85,749 according to this dashboard which updates every few hours.
China still remains at number two with 81,340 cases however the rate of spread in China for the COVID-19 has slowed down to the point that some cities haven’t even reported any cases in days. The country which saw the worst of it in the start have now been able to curb the spread of the virus.
Europe which is now the epicenter has been reporting thousands of cases from different countries in the region especially Italy, Spain and Germany.
However, United States seems to be becoming the next epicenter the way the virus is spreading out of control in the country.
