The total tally for coronavirus cases in Pakistan has surged to 2419 with almost 200 new cases reported on Thursday from different provinces.
The total number of COVID-19 deaths also rose to 34 with 3 more deaths reported today that include two from Sindh which includes one patient who was 65 years old and a resident of Tando Mohammad Khan. He was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad on 28 March and was a member of the Tableeghi Jamaaat. According to sources, he had Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and was placed on ventilator.
While the other death was an 86 year old patient and a resident of Karachi. The patient was tested positive for the coronavirus yesterday and also had hypertension.
Khyber Pakthunkhwa also reported one coronavirus death while the total number of cases for the province have reached 311, said the KP Health Department in a tweet.
Punjab currently has the highest number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan at 920 while Punjab and Sindh both have the highest death toll at 11 each.

Global Update
The total number of coronavirus in the world have crossed 1 million and the death toll has also surpassed 51,000 and these figures show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The United States accounts for more than 20% of the world total with over 237,500 cases which the third highest death toll at 5,718. The country saw an increase of more than 23,000 cases in just one day with over 650 deaths.
However, Italy has the highest number of COVID-19 deaths at 13,915 and the second highest number of cases which have crossed 115,000 and keeps rising rapidly although at a slower rate than before.
Spain has the second highest death toll in the world due to coronavirus with 10,096 fatalities and the second highest number of cases with over 110,000 and is also reporting thousand of new cases every single day.
