ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar said that over 30 million people have applied for the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program so far using the 8171 SMS campaign for financial assistance of Rs. 12,000 during these hard times of coronavirus pandemic.
SAPM Dr Sania Nishtar took to Twitter saying that other deserving families can apply for the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program using the 8171 SMS service.
Dr Sania Nishtar also addressed a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday where she explained the who application process including how criteria for beneficiaries applying for the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program.
Under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program 13 million families will be given financial aid of Rs. 12,000 during these hard times due to coronavirus especially the daily wage earners who are out of work.
Dr Sania Nishtar said that current Kafalat beneficiaries who are already being paid Rs. 2,000 per month will now be given an additional Rs. 1,000 and paid for the next four months in advance with a lump sum of Rs. 12,000.
According to Dr Sania Nishtar, the payment program for the program will begin from Wednesday, 8 April onwards and people will be able to collect their payments ffrom over 18,065 retail points across Pakistan or biometric ATMs of Habib Bank (HBL) and Al-Falah Bank too.
