Section 144 in Islamabad extended till 30 April

ISLAMABAD: A notice issued by the Office of District Magistrate states that Section 144 in Islamabad that was placed on 24 March 2020 has now been extended till 30 April 2020.

The decision comes after the federal government extended the lockdown in Pakistan till 30 April owing to the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the country as well as the rising death toll.

The federal government however said that certain industries will now be allowed to operate which includes contructions and related businesses, tailors, barbers etc.

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah however, said that the province will be exercising even more restrictions and businesses will not be allowed to open unless they are essential apart from few exceptions.

However, the Ullema do not seem to be on broad with the restrictions and lockdown and Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman said last night that the extension will not affect Mosques where regular congregational prayers will now continue along with Taraweeh prayers and Aitakaf in Ramazan.
