Sindh lockdown restrictions to be tougher: CM Murad Ali Shah

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah says that the province will exercise more tougher restrictions during the lockdown compared to before after the Federal Government extended the lockdown that was placed on 24 March 2020 till 30 March 2020.

The Federal Government said that certain industries will be allowed to start operating following precautionary measures and these businesses include construction industry, barbers, tailiers, carpentering services, electricians and more.

However, CM Murad Ali Shah says that Sindh Government will not allow these businesses to open saying that tougher restrictions will be place than before.

However, CM Murad Ali Shah told the media in a briefing that:

There will be certain exceptions but they will be very calculated.

The Ullema however do not seem to be on board this while lockdown extension and want Mosques to be reopened. Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman told everyone in a press conference last night that the lockdown extension is not for Mosques and normal congregational prayers will begin including Taraweeh prayers and Aitakaf during Ramazan.

However, Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Noorul Haq Qadri said that a decision will be made regarding the matter after a meeting with other religious leaders in the country that will be chaired by President Arif Alvi.
