LAHORE: The School Education Department of Punjab has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for fee collection and payment of salaries as Government and private schools in Punjab have been closed till 31 May 2020 to control the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in the country.
According to the notification, schools are will be allowed to open their admin offices between 20th April and 25th April for fee collection and payment of salaries to teachers and school staff. The dates for the month of May and June, 2020 may also be announced during this period.
The notification also states that the District Education Authorities, District Registering Authorities, District Health Authorities and Assistant Commissioners concerned are to monitor schools to make sure these SOPs are implemented.

According to the notification only the admin office is allowed to be opened with just the principle and accountant present. No teachers are to be called and schools need to make sure the following SOPs are followed:
- Only two persons shall be allowed including Principal/Administrator and Accountant for management purposes only.
- Timing of opening of Admin offices of private managed school shall be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Face masks shall be mandatory for the people dealing with the parents / visitors.
- Strict compliance with social distancing shall be ensured and gatherings / crowding of people shall not be permitted. Circles with appropriate distance or similar appropriate means shall be used for this purpose for the social distancing.
- Teachers and staff may be called for pay purpose only with class wise schedules, one class per day.
- Soap and hand sanitizers must be provided.
- No student shall be allowed to visit school for any purpose.
- Wash rooms and other area shall be disinfected with chlorine solution, daily.
- Where possible school shall utilize banking channels for collection of fee and payment of salaries.
