ISLAMABAD: Three employees of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have tested positive for coronavirus along with seven other people.
Islamabad reported ten new cases of coronavirus today out of which three PIMS employees were tested positive for coronavirus. After the new cases emerged that were due to local spread of the virus, parts of PWD, F-10 and PIMS Colony have been sealed and disinfected to prevent further spread of the COVID-19.

According to the Exexutive Director of PIMS Dr Ansar Maqsood, all three employees contract virus locally but not from the patients as they were not working in the medical departments. According to Dr Maqsood, two of them worked in the accounts department while one of the employees worked in the store room.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad has reached 181 and authorities also reported the third death in the capital. while Pakistan’s total tally has surged past 8,600 along with a death toll of 181.
Islamabad earlier extended Section 144 in the city till 30 April after the countrywide lockdown was extended for another two weeks to try and curb the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
