Coronavirus cases in Pakistan surge to 13328 with 279 deaths

The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 13,328 while the death toll has also gone up to 279 after more than 600 cases and 11 fatalities were reported on Sunday.

Balochistan spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani reported three fatalities in the province bringing the provincial death toll to 13.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department reported five fatalities in their daily report bringing the provincial death toll to 98, the highest in the country.

The Health and Population Welfare Department of Sindh reported three deaths in their day of day report including the same number of cases as Senator Murtaza Wahab who reported those number early monring meaning that these figures were not updated throughout the day.

Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar missed today’s report however according to the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) there were no deaths today and very few new cases compared to previous days.

Global Update

Global coronavirus cases have surged past 2.98 million while the death toll has surpassed 206,000 and United States alone has the highest percentage of these cases and fatalities.

United States has over 980,000 coronavirus cases which make up over 32 percent of global cases along 55,094 fatalities that account for over 26 percent of the global death toll.

Spain has the second highest number of cases however it doesn’t even come close to the United States. The number of coronavirus cases in Spain is over 226,000 while the death toll is the third highest at 23,190. The daily number being reported have significantly improved compared to previous weeks.

Italy has the third highest number of cases over 197,000 while the death toll is the second highest with 26,644 fatalities.

The number of coronavirus cases in France is over 162,000 while the country’s death toll is 22,856 which makes both these figures the fourth highest globally.

The UK is the fifth country that crossed the 20,000 fatalities mark on Saturday while the country’s total cases are the sixth highest over 153,000.

Germany has more cases than UK with over 157,000 however, the number of fatalities are under control at nearly 6,000.
