The Turkish drama Dirilis Ertugrul has become increasingly popular in Pakistan ever since PTV Home started airing it this Ramazan in Urdu dubbing.
Now PTV is keen on breaking a YouTube world record for most new subscribers to a YouTube Channel in 1 month and the national television channel is asking fans to help break this world record which stands at 6.6 million subscribers.

PTV World first made a tweet about this on 8 May 2020 and asked fans for their help to get the subscribers needed to break the record. The tweet said:
Let’s get the world record for most new subscribers in 1 month on YouTube. The current record is 6.6 million and the channel Ertugrul Ghazi can beat that with your love! We have 15 days to make history,
Not long after, fans started subscribing to the Ertugrul Ghazi YouTube channel by PTV and the channel has already crossed 1 million subscribers. However, it still has a long way to go in order to beat the record but there is still enough time for PTV to actually achieve this.
This show was highly recommended by Prime Minister Imran Khan who thought that the youth can learn about Islam and our culture rather than be exposed to vulgarity found in Bollywood and Hollywood content.
The show’s title Dirilis Ertugrul translates to Ressurrection: Ertugrul and tells the history of the Muslim Oghuz Turks focusing on the life of Ertugrul, father of Osman I, who was the founder of the Ottoman Empire.
