KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation Department Sindh has issued a notification stating that Motor Registration Wings will be opening from 14 May 2020 after Motor Dealers Associations urged for offices to open.
To make sure that people are not met with long queues and crowds at the Motor Registration Wings, the Excise and Taxation Department has set up an “Online Queue Management System” where people can reserve a time slot prior to their visit as to avoid crowd under the current coronavirus situation.

How to reserve your appointment using Online Queue Management System?
In order to use this Online Queue Management System, visitors can register at taxportal.excise.gos.pk by confirming their identity through SMS and click on the Appointments Tab where they will be able to select the time of their visit to the Motor Registration Wings.
Visitors will then get an SMS confirming their appointment and it is required that they bring along a printout or the SMS against the reservation of the appointment at the selected office of the Motor Registration Wings.
The Excise and Taxation Department has also issued a number of standard operating procedures (SOPs) that are essential to be observed during the office hours.
The SOPs to be observed are:
- The Temperature checking device and hand sanitizer shall be provided to checking officials posted on entrance of the building/office premises for screening of all officers/officials and visitors. No Person with fever, cough, flu, shortness of breath and body pain shall be allowed to enter into the office premises.
- All the officiers/Officials must wear “Mask” and “Gloves” and avoid to “Shake Hands” during the office hours dealing with public as well as each other.
- All the Staff shall keep social distance at the working place at least 6 feet away from each other during sitting.
- The Taxpayers while visiting the offices of Motor Registration Wings must maintain que and keeping distance of 6 feet from each other.
- The Staff posted at Counters dealing with public must wear Face Protective Kit.
- Old age officials/Officers suffering from any chronic disease may not be allowed.
- Make Sure your workplaces are clean and hygienic. (Surfaces e.g desk and tables) and object e.g Telephones,Keyboards need to be wiped with disinfectant regularly.
- Promote regular and thorough hand-washing by employees.
- Put Hand Sanitizer in prominent places areound the workplace
- Make Sure that staff,have access to places where they can wash their hands with soap and water.
- Washrooms shall be clean frequently with water and disinfectants.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- Not more than one third of working strength staff will be called for duty.
- Not more than one third counters be opened to maintain social distancing.
- Officers/Officials shall be posted on rotation basis.
- Only one case of Registration OR Transfer Or Tax payment will be dealt on one Token.
The Directors Excise & Taxation concenred shall make sure the observance of SOP’s.
