KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Government will stand against the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led provincial Government if they decide to impose another Karachi lockdown trying to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Khurram Sher Zaman while addressing a press conference said that the PPP Government in the province had failed to provide relief to the public and regulate prices of essential items like vegetables and fruits.
He said that it was not the duty of the Federal Government to check and control prices of these items but rather falls to the provincial government. Zaman went on to accuse the PPP led Provincial Government to wanting to cause economic damage by imposing another Karachi lockdown.

The PTI MPA said that the Federal Government has so far provided relief to millions of people and businesses by waiving off their utility bills for a few months when all the Sindh Government has done is create scare among the people regarding the virus and politicizing it rather than taking any actual action against it.
Khurram Zaman even questioned the decision of the Sindh Government to close stores and businesses at 5pm saying that this will not help control the coronavirus in any way giving examples of other countries such as the United States and Europe where millions have tested positive and thousands have lost their lives even with the lockdown imposed.
He mentioned as the world was realizing that lockdown is not the solution, Sindh Government wanted another Karachi lockdown just because they want to disrupt and cause economic damage to the Federal Government.
