The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 66,358 while the country’s death toll has reached 1,394. There were 2,735 new cases reported on Friday (29 May 2020) along with 82 more fatalities across the country.
Sindh Health and Population Welfare Department reported 31 more fatalities in their daily coronavirus update. This brings the provincial death toll to 427.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department reported 13 more fatalities in the province. This brings the provincial death toll to 445 according to their daily coronavirus update.
Balochistan Health Department issued their Daily Situation Report and said that the department changed its policies to account for probable deaths. The new death toll reported by the province is 76 including 46 confirmed deaths and 30 probable deaths.
Islamabad reported four more fatalities according to a detailed reported issued by the DC Commissioner Islamabad bringing the death toll of the Islamabad Capital Territory to 23.
Gilgit Baltistan reported no new fatalities according to the Daily Situation Report issued by the GB Health Department. However, there were two new cases registered.
Punjab has not reported latest figures for 29 May 2020. We still have the following report with figures from the previous day (28 May 2020). We will update this post with the latest Punjab figures for 28 May 2020 once they are released.
UPDATE: Punjab reported 29 more fatalities on 29 May 2020 according to the report by Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). This brins the provincial death toll to 439.
