The Federal Government has decided to seal markets including shopping malls across the country if they are found in violation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the government.
The decision comes after a spike in coronavirus cases after Eid-ul-Fitr as coronavirus cases in the country have surged past 85,000 which is even greater than China.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill announced the decision of the Federal Government stating that:
Several big markets across Pakistan will be closed today over violation of SOPs
Operation in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been initiated. We must follow SOPs in any case.
Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP) Government has already sealed many markets including shopping malls including in Peshawar where Gul Haji Plaza, Shinwari Resturaunt, R-Sheen, Sapphire and many other shops were sealed for violating the SOPs.
Officials also sealed bus stands where SOPs were not being followed and action has been taken against 138 people that include several traders for not wearing face masks.
