Senator Rehman Malik has responded directly to the allegations made by blogger Cynthia Dawn Ritchie who accused the ex-Interior Minister of rape along with naming ex-Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and former Health Minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin for “physically manhandling” the Pakistan based US Blogger.
Rehman Malik in a series of tweets thanked the members of his political party for support saying:
I can face such fake & fabricated allegations in hundreds while fighting for respect and honour of our leader Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto.
He further stated that all Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) members should remain united under the law and to respect women and “ensure not to use any abusive language for anyone while defending Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto.”
Malik further said that the allegations of rape made by Cynthia Ritchie are only because he took a stance against the derogatory tweets made by the blogger against the late Benazir Bhutto.
Cynthia Ritchie has been very active on social media responding to people on Twitter ever since she did the live Facebook sessions making where she accused Malik of rape.
However, earlier today she made a tweet saying that she is now going to take a break from social media to tell her story to the traditional media stating that the coming week involves criminal proceedings against PPP and Rehman Malik.
