ISLAMABAD: SAPM Dr Sania Nishtar announced that the Ehsaas Emergency Program was being extended to 160 million families instead of the earlier 120 million families who were eligible to get financial aid of Rs. 12,000 during the coronavirus pandemic.
At a press conference in Islamabad the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Security Dr Sania Nishtar said that the Prime Minister had announced that the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program will be extended to 40 million more families that have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Currently, the Ehsaas Emergency Programme has disbursed Rs. 120 million in 9 weeks to over 10 million deserving families across the country in a very transparent manner as promised by the Government. Full details are available about cash disbursement on the official Ehsaas Portal.
Ehsaas Emergency Program has been such a huge success that Prime Minister Imran Khan has even offered to help India in setting up a similar cash transfer program after it has been revealed that many in the country are suffering from the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
Ehsaas Program has recently launched a new payment method or better a supplementary payment method where those beneficiaries who were having trouble with biometric verification can simply visit designated branches of partner banks to withdraw their amount of Rs. 12,000.
