Pakistani truck artist paints stunning George Floyd mural

Pakistan truck artist Haider Ali painted a George Floyd mural at his home which was his way to honor the unarmed black man murdered by Police in the United States in late May.

Haider Ali is a truck artist living near Karachi’s Hawks Bay Beach and painted a mural of George Floyd dedicating an entire wall to him in a truck style art.

The murder of George Floyd led to country wide protests favoring the Black Lives Matter movement with everyone demanding justice, equality and an end to racism. Soon after these protests extended to other parts of the world including Europe with people coming to the streets in solidarity with the movement.

The mural has important messages painted into the mural that say:

Hum Kalay Hain Tou Kia Hua? Dil Walay Hain.
(We might be black but we’ve got big hearts)

Another message on the mural states:

Goron ki na kalon ki, duniya hai dil walon ki.
(The world doesn’t belong to whites or blacks, but to those having big hearts)

The mural also shows the hashtag for the BlackLivesMatter movement and mentions the words Justice and Equality. In Urdu, the we can also see the words, “Adal, Insaaf, Barabari” which also translate to Justice and Equality.

According to Haider Ali, the mural also includes everyone going through injustice including the Muslim minorities in Kashmir, Palestine and Myanmar who are regularly tortured and killed at the hands of their oppressors.
