ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a show cause notice to media channels for airing false news regarding suspension/termination of Pakistani Pilots and Engineers working in Kuwait Airways.
PEMRA issued show-cause notices to ARY News, Dunya News, 24 News, Public TV, and GTV for airing false news without any editorial check/verification.

Media Channels publish the news following one another without authenticating the source, the misleading information damages the reputation of Pakistan and overseas Pakistanis.
PIA Suspends 150 Pilots Due To Fake License Fraud
On June 25, 2020 Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced that it has suspended 150 pilots after suspicions arose over the authenticity of their licenses.
The airline’s decision came after the preliminary findings of a probe into the PIA crash in Karachi on May 22nd held the pilots responsible.
