11 year old girl in Punjab becomes youngest victim of coronavirus

LAHORE: Maryam, aged 11, has become the youngest victim of the coronavirus in Punjab after passing away due to the virus at the Children’s Hospital in Lahore.

According to sources, Maryam, aged 11 years old, is the first child and the youngest person to become victim to the coronavirus in the Punjab province. The young girl belonged to Okara and was brought to Children’s Hospital in Lahore after being tested positive for coronavirus.

The news about the incident was published by Dawn who said that the girl was also diagnosed with chronic liver disease according to Dr Masood Sadiq of the Children’s Hospital who talked to Dawn.

Coronavirus cases are on the rise in Pakistan there were 141 fatalities reported on 29 June 2020 in the country with 46 of them being from Punjab.

The total fatalities in Punjab have reached 1,727 while the number of coronavirus cases are now 75,501 and rising. The total cases in Pakistan have topped 210,000 while number of fatalities have crossed 2,900.
