Sindh Govt allows setting up Cattle Markets before Eid-ul-Azha

KARACHI: The Sindh Government has allowed setting up of Cattle Markets across the province ahead of Eid-ul-Azha after the approval by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

However, according to the spokesperson of the Chief Minister said that the organizers of Cattle Markets across Sindh need to ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are strictly implemented in order to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

CM Murad Ali Shah further instructed the deputy commissioners to make sure that no cattle markets are operated within the city and also urged the people to not visit these animal markets unnecessarily.

Specific places will be allocated by authorities for sacrificing animals according to the Chief Minister who said:

If animals are slaughtered in streets everywhere, this will lead to the spread of diseases,

NCOC Finalizes Cattle Market SOPs

Previously National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) finalized standard operating procedures (SOPs) for these cattle markets as well as Eid-ul-Azha.

It was decided that cattle markets will be allowed to operate from 6am till 7pm during which time everyone entering these markets will have to wear mask and gloves.

Furthermore it is the duty of organizers to make sure everyone is screened at the entrance and limited amount of people are allowed inside at one time to limit and control the spread of the virus.

For Eid-ul-Azha congregational prayers it was decided that the same format will be followed as Eid-ul-Fitr.
