Several areas in the port city are without power after the third spell of rain reached Karachi as predicted by the Met Department. Rain is expected to continue till 27 July.
Some areas of the Karachi which are experiencing power outage include due to rain include:
- Malir
- Gulistan-e-Johar
- Gulshan-e-Maymar
- Korangi
- Old City Area
- Liaquatabad
- PIB Colony
- FB Area
- Shah Faisal Colony

K Electric took to Twitter about the power outage telling people not to call their helpline unnecessarily as it creates longer wait times. According to the department they will work on restoring power as soon as it is safe to do so.
According to the Met Department, the rainfall recorded has been over 66mm in Gulistan-e-Johar which is the highest in Karachi during the current rain spell while Old Airport registered 55mm of rainfall along with Pehlwan Goth while Malir registered 42mm.
Meanwhile, PSP Leader Mustafa Kamal holds a press conference at 4 pm in Karachi Press Club against K-Electric’s unscheduled loadshedding.
