Karachi Traffic Police went as far as to issue a challan of Rs. 500 to a poor cyclist who was selling toys.
The elderly cyclist was a man named Muhammad Iqbal Shahid who was stopped by Karachi Traffic Police officers and ended up getting a fine (challan) of Rs. 500 which included a service tax of Rs. 20 bringing the total to Rs. 520.
The challan had mentioned vehicle as motor cycle instead of a bicycle as well.

Iqbal Shahid was seen admitting to his mistake however the Karachi traffic police officer Iqbal Shahid did not let him off with a warning and was adamant to issue the poor a challan.
We can see that Shahid was not taking the receipt telling the officer that he cannot pay the Rs. 500 fine (challan) as he did not even have money to buy flour for his home.
According to sources, the issue has come to notice of IG Sindh who has ordered about an inquiry into the incident.
