LAHORE: Authorities are taking action against businesses who are found in violation of Punjab lockdown that has been implemented till 5 August as part of the Provincial Government’s efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus during Eid ul Azha.
According to the notification issued by the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Punjab, a complete lockdown is to be observed throughout the province with the exception of essential businesses that are allowed to operate.

However, many businesses were found in violation of these orders especially in Gujranwala and Sarghoda which have now been sealed by authorities.
According to sources, several shopkeepers were detained earlier for violating said orders while four shops were sealed in Sarghoda and several shopkeepers were fined.
Many traders in Lahore have also rejected the Punjab lockdown orders and said that they would remain open. According to the traders, problem may arise if Government tried to stop them from conducting business.
