KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a Karachi weather update saying the between 80 to 130mm of rain is expected in the port city today.
The heavy downpour with thunderstorms will be cause by the intensified low air pressure system over Rajasthan leading to 80 to 130mm of rain in Karachi which is expected to continue till Saturday.
The low pressure over Karachi is expected to more westwards to Balochistan and heavy monsoon rain is expected from Friday till Sunday in most parts of the province which include Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran, Panjgur, Ketch and Gwadar.

The fourth spell of Karachi rain has so far taken three lives which include two people being electrocuted in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Lyari while another man drowned in the Lyari river.
Impact of yesterday’s Karachi rain
The city has also experienced prolonged loadshedding lasting hours as K-Electric switched off feeders in many parts of the city as a precautionary measure and told residents to only contact them in case of emergency.
However, electricity has now been restored in most parts of the city according K-Electric except for areas where there is water logging and isolated faults.
According to the latest Karachi weather update provided by the Met Office, the spell is expected to continue till tomorrow leading to more trouble for residents.
