Saba Qamar, Bilal Saeed criticized for shooting music video at Mosque

Pakistani actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed are facing criticism on social media over shooting their Qubool music video at Wazir Khan Mosque in Lahore.

Social media users are raging over Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed for disrespecting a sacred place such as a mosque for the shoot of their Qubool music video after a teaser was by Saba Qamar on her Instagram.

The Pakistani actress did state in the caption of the video that the sequence shot at the mosque only shows the Nikah scene and it was not shot with any playback music and is just a prologue to the rest of the music video.

Saba Qamar wrote in her caption saying:

This is also the only sequence that was shot at the historical Wazir Khan Mosque. It’s a prologue to the music video featuring a Nikah scene. It was neither shot with any sort of playback music nor has it been edited to the music track.

The actress further stated that disrespecting a holy place is as unimaginable to her as any other decent human being and also apologized saying:

Despite this if we have unknowingly hurt anyone’s sentiments we apologise to you all with all our heart. Love & Peace!

However, everyone angered at the incident went straight to Twitter trending the hashtag #SabaQamar and #BilalSaeed criticizing the stars for shooting their Qubool music video at the Wazir Khan Mosque.

Even major news sources are making it seem as if Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed shot their entire Qubool music video at the Wazir Khan mosque.

Here are some more tweets showing people’s anger towards the shooting of Qubool music video.

However, there were people who read the caption and saw what the actress had to say about the shoot of the video at Wazir Khan Mosque.

There are also reports that Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed shot their scene for their Qubool music video at the mosque without permission but there is a document circulating showing that permission was taken from the Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department.

The document shows that permission was taken from concerned department and shooting fees paid accordingly.
