MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina have both announced their retirement from all international cricket on Saturday in recent Instagram posts made on their respective accounts.
The announcement by Mahendra Singh Dhoni better known by MS Dhoni ends the 15-year long career of the former captain who led the Indian Cricket team to multiple victories which included the ICC World Cup T20 (2007), ICC World Cup (2011) and ICC Champions Trophy (2013).
The Indian cricketer last played for India in an international cricket match against New Zealand in the ICC World Cup (2009) scoring 50 runs at the Old Trafford in Manchester.
MS Dhoni in his long career has played 350 ODI matches scoring a total of 10,773 runs marking an end to his career as a cricketer after this announcement. The cricket earlier announced retirement from test cricket back in 2014.
Suresh Raina Announces Retirement
Suresh Raina has also announced his retirement from International Cricket on the same day as MS Dhoni through his Instagram handle.
In his Instagram post, the Suresh Raina wrote, “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781 . With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India. Jai Hind!”.
