KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has declared a public holiday throughout the province on August 28 (Friday) on account of the heavy rains and the chaos that ensued causing widespread disruption.
The Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in a statement on Thursday said that all government, semi-government and private institutions in the province will remain closed on August 28 (Friday).

However, offices providing essential services will remain open on Friday and these include local bodies, health, water board, PDMA and revenue offices.
According to the Chief Minister, relief and rescue operations were underway and the Sindh Government was trying to ensure that pumps draining water continue working.
Murad Ali Shah ensures that ministers and MPA’s are on duty in their respective districts overseeing the relief operations. Many homes have been flooded in both elite and less developed areas of Karachi.
