KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan on Tuesday has allowed banks to open selected branches on Saturday following the decline of coronavirus cases in the country.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), selected bank branches will be allowed to operate on Saturdays especially those located at business centers and ports.
Previously, the central bank ordered all banks to remain closed on Saturday due to the rising coronavirus cases in the country.
However, since normal business activities have resumed following the decline in coronavirus cases, the SBP has allowed bank branches to operate on Saturday.
All branches opening on Saturday will have to strictly follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to keep the COVID-19 cases under control.
