ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ramazan moon has not been sighted in any part of the country which means first fasting day of the Holy month of Ramazan will be on Friday.
The official announcement was made in this regard by the Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Munibur Rehman in Karachi on Wednesday night.
Mufti Munibur Rehman said that no report was received from any part of the country regarding the sighting of the Ramazan moon. He said that the holy month will begin on Friday.
Earlier, a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi with its Chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman in the chair on Wednesday evening in order to witness the Ramazan moon which marks the commencement of the Holy Islamic month.
The zonal ruet-e-hilal committees also held their meetings at their respective regions including Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar to witness the Ramazan moon.
Earlier, the experts had predicted that it was highly unlikely that Ramazan moon would besighted tonight.
