Altaf Hussain MQM’s Chief’s bail extended till July 9

LONDON : Bail of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain in money laundering case has been extended till July 9.

He appeared before Central Police London on Tuesday after the expiry of his bail period. The MQM chief appeared at the London Police Station accompanied by his lawyers, senior party leaders, including Babar Ghauri.

London Police extended Altaf Hussain’s bail on medical grounds after reports of his health condition were presented through his lawyers, requesting extension in his bail.

The MQM chief was interrogated for six hours; however, his reply to several questions was ‘no comments.’

Also, Altaf Hussain’s passport was confiscated by the London Police.

The MQM chief said he has full faith in British law and justice system and requested party workers to remain calm and peaceful during interrogation.

Party workers reached MQM Headquarters NineZero and celebrated after news reached Karachi of Altaf Hussain’s bail extension.

In 2014, Altaf Hussain was arrested on suspicion of money-laundering during a raid at his residence in northwest London.

On April 1, senior MQM leader Muhammed Anwar was also arrested at his home in North London in connection with the money laundering case. He was released on bail later.

MQM denies any involvement in money laundering.

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
