INDIA: Rabibiya Khan mother of Jiah Khan has released photographs of her daughter’s dead body to support her charge that Jiah was murdered. Jiah’s mother has demanded a CBI inquiry and filed a fresh petition in the Bombay High Court.
According to Rabbiya, the investigation was not done properly, alleging that her daughter’s death is a murder case and not a suicide. 25-year-old Jiah Khan, who made her debut opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Nishabd, was found hanging from the ceiling at her residence in June earlier this year.
A week after her death, on June 10 2013, her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was arrested on charges of abetting her suicide. Sooraj, who is the son of Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab was later granted bail by the high court in July. Sooraj is set to debut in Salman Khan’s next home production, Hero.
Jiah was part of big-budget movies such as Ghajini and Houseful 2 but she could never break into the mainstream big league.
