Preview:
Pakistan were convincing winners in the 1st T20 but Zimbabwe did put up a good fight losing by 25 runs. The Pakistan bowlers did extremely well to restrict Zimbabwe who looked dangerous at one stage and Ahmed Shehzad stared for them with the bat with a half century. Prosper Utseya caused a lot of problems for the Pakistan batsmen with his four overs and he will look to have the same effect in the 2nd T20. Ahmed Shehzad will be striving to have a huge tour in order to ensure he keeps his place in the team and after scoring his half century in the first match he will be full of confidence.
Key Players:
Ahmed Shehzad opener his account with a half century in the first match of the series which has set the tone for the series already. Shehzad has played the 14 T20′s for Pakistan and will be glad that he could add to his previous half century with his 50 ball 70. The 21 year old’s stats suggest he has a lot of potential to do some damage in the Twenty20 format with two hundred to his name in domestic cricket in the format. This is a huge series for Shehzad to impress selectors so he can keep his spot in future series.
The experience Prosper Utseya seemed to cause a few problems for the Pakistan batsmen. The 28 year old finished with figures of 1 for 15 off his four over which included the wicket of the dangerous Umar Amin. Utseya has a strong record in Twenty20′s with 22 wickets from 25 matches and an economy rate of 6.47. He has also taken five wickets in his last three Twenty20′s and will look to add to that in the 2nd T20. He has played three matches against Pakistan in T20′s and stats suggest that Pakistan have struggled to hit him with an economy rate of 4.50.
