Samsung Galaxy S3 & S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Coming in October 2013

Along with the announcement of the Galaxy Note 3, and the next year’s Galaxy Note 10.1, the company even hinted about the availability of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 and S4 devices.

The Galaxy S3 launched in 2012 with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and during this summer an update to Android 4.1.2 was rolled out. However the update was not without its problems. When Verizon released the 4.1.2 upgrade, which also added support for features like Multi-Window multitasking, Multi-Screen and S Beam’s Auto Share Shot, for Galaxy S3 users on its network reports started to appear about 4G LTE connectivity issues.

The Galaxy S4, which was launched earlier this year, shipped with Android 4.2.2 and the update to Android 4.3 should be hassle free considering that the Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S4 is already running the latest version.

Given that Android 4.3 comes with Bluetooth Low Energy, it’s assumed that the updates that Samsung is referring to are Android 4.3 updates that have been rumored for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. Samsung has already rolled out Android 4.3 for the Galaxy S4 Google Edition so it was only a matter of time before the Galaxy S4 got its update.

Samsung announced that the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 will get their updates sometime in October. The company says that the software will hit the Galaxy S4 in October, but we wouldn’t be shocked to see it arrive a bit sooner than the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 updates.

This is all great news for Samsung S3 and S4 owners, but of course now the problem is that Google have tempted us with thoughts of Android 4.4 KitKat!
