Saudi Arabia cancels Hajj 2020 for Foreign Pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia has cancelled Hajj 2020 for foreign pilgrims limiting it to those residing in the country in wake of the coronavirus pandemic that has affected millions across the globe according to a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

According to the statement only a limited number of pilgrims will be allowed to perform Hajj 2020 which will include those belonging to different nationalities but residing within Saudi Arabia.

This way Hajj 2020 will be performed in a safe manner observing all precautionary measures and social distancing protocols so that lives of anyone are not put in danger from the coronavirus.

The statement states that the decision has been taken in accordance with the recommendation from the Saudi Ministry of Health as currently no vaccine or cure for the coronavirus and it is the top priority to maintain the safety of pilgrims on its land.

The statement also mentions suspending entry of Umrah pilgrims to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and ensure safety of all those already present at the Holy sites.
