The 11th Generation Honda Civic 2022 has finally been officially launched in the US offering a much more subtle re-design compared to the 10th-generation model of the C-segment sedan, which offered a more aggressive and sporty look.
However, the new re-design of the Honda Civic 2022 has received a lot of positive feedback from fans as the sedan offers a lot of new features and upgrades apart from the more mature look, including improved fuel economy, safety features and a simplified interior.
Powertrain and Mechanicals
The Honda Civic 2022 comes in two engine options with the base variant powered by a 2.0L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine which makes 158 HP and 187 Nm of torque.
The more powerful variant of the new vehicle offers the same 1.5L turbocharged engine but with increased power producing 180 HP and 240 Nm of torque.
Both of these variants offer driving modes, including Economy, Normal and Sport and the vehicle is equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system. It bears mentioning that the new Honda Civic does not come with a manual transmission.
Furthermore, the Honda Civic 2022 has a stretched wheelbase by 1.4 inches and a widened rear track by 0.5 inches along with a more flowing design that takes pointers from the larger Accord sedan.
Exterior and Interior
As we have discussed, the 11th Generation Honda Civic offers a complete re-design compared to the previous generation but in a good way with a more simplified look as part of the company’s revolution and evolution pattern which is followed every generation.
The interior of the vehicle is a step-up and offers a much more appealing design and more features compared to the previous generation of the sedan.
The Honda Civic 2022 features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with hard controls, including physical knobs while the top-of-the-line model offers a 9-inch infotainment display with a 10.2-inch cluster panel.
Furthermore, there is a completely new seat design offering improved comfort and stability for the passengers.
Safety Features in Honda Civic 2022
The new Honda Civic is equipped with an Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE) body structure with new supper A-pillar structure for improved passenger safety.
The vehicle is equipped with 10 airbags, including rear-seat side airbags which have been introduced in the vehicle for the first time.
Honda Civic 2022 Price
The 11th Generation Honda Civic 2022 is priced at $20,000 for the base model with the top-of-the-line variant priced at $30,000. Honda USA says that the vehicle will go on sale by mid-summer 2022 while the sedan is expected to hit European and Asian markets by end of 2021or early 2022.
