Force Motors has recently unveiled the 2024 Force Gurkha range in India, with prices starting at Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom) for the three-door model and Rs. 18 lakh for the five-door variant. Interested buyers can now book the SUV, with bookings open from today for a token amount of Rs. 25,000.
This latest iteration marks the most comprehensive update for the Gurkha SUV since its introduction in 2021. Visually, it boasts new alloy wheels, headlamps, and an updated grille. The three-door Gurkha measures 3.95 meters in length, while the five-door version stretches to 4.3 meters, placing it in the segment alongside popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.
Inside the cabin, Force Motors has introduced fresh upholstery and a full-digital instrument cluster. Additional features include TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), dual-front airbags, and an 8.0-inch display for the infotainment system.
Under the hood, the 2024 Gurkha is powered by a 2.6-litre diesel engine generating 132bhp/320Nm, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Notably, the Gurkha distinguishes itself with its four-wheel drive system, featuring locking differentials and shift-on-the-fly capability, available as standard across both the three-door and five-door models.
Competing in the market with models like the Maruti Jimny and the lower-spec variant of the Mahindra Thar, the Gurkha offers a robust alternative. Notably, Mahindra’s Thar is set to introduce a five-door variant in August of this year, adding further competition to the segment.
