Sazgar Engineering Works Limited have increased the price of BAIC BJ40 Plus in Pakistan as Pakistani Rupee continues to crash against US Dollar and restrictions on the import of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits make it difficult for companies to operate in the country.
According to the details, the company issued a notification stating that price of BAIC BJ40 Plus in Pakistan has been increased from 25th July 2022 for all new booking orders. However, the customers who have made full payment for already booked orders before 25th July 2022 will not have to pay any additional charges.
The company also mention that reason behind the increase was the current economic crisis, which has been detrimental to the automotive industry along with restriction on import of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits as the Federal Government tries to recover the trade deficit and save precious foreign exchange.
BAIC BJ40 PLUS PRICE IN PAKISTAN
According to the notification, the new price of BAIC BJ40 Plus in Pakistan is Rs. 9,495,000 compared to the old price of Rs. 8,199,000, which is a massive increase of Rs. 1,296,000. However, if the currency depreciation continues, these prices are expected to rise even further in the coming months.
It is pertinent to mention that several automotive manufacturers have announced non-production days (NPDs) to cope with unavailability of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits because of constraints getting approval for Letter of Credit (LCs) from the State Bank of Pakistan.
Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has also announced to provide complete refund to customers along with mark-up payment for already booked orders as the company cannot meet the delivery deadlines because of the disruption in the production caused by restrictions on CKD kits.
